Anglo-Indian Rosewood DaybedMid 19th century
A British colonial or Anglo-Indian open daybed in rosewood. The sides display eight spindles each.
The legs are elegantly turned and terminate with a ring and ball on a peg foot, all joined with plain square sectioned stretchers. The hand woven seat is newly caned in one continuous section and the seat height is 51 cm or 20”.
The daybed is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The rosewood has a dark shade with a striking grain.
