Anglo-Indian Teakwood Cylinder DeskLate 19th century
A British colonial teakwood cylinder desk with a shaped back above a rectangular moulded top with a serpentine shaped gallery and a cylinder fall front. The top opens to reveal a fitted interior which consists of several pigeon holes, three equal size- and one larger drawer with brass handles. The piece has a pull out writing slide. Beneath the writing slide a pedestal offers more storage space: one drawer above a compartment with one shelve behind a paneled door.
The desk is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.Bombay
