A PERFECT PARTNERSHIP

The owners have a great skill in matching antiques with their prestigious pieces of art. For example, in the central living area stands a handsome mahogany and ebony Indo-Dutch chest, a special piece which was love at first sight for the couple. Above, is an exceptional painting by R.H. Raza, one of India’s most important 20th century contemporary artists. “The Raza painting is from his iconic “Bindu” series, powerful in its simplicity and symbolizing energy and spirituality with a unique vibrance of colour palette that nicely blends with the colonial chest. We collect art that appeals to our senses and those we know we'll cherish for lifetime” says our customer.

A ROOM WITH A VIEW

The apartment itself has striking panoramic views across Sentosa, The Marina at Keppel Bay, Keppel golf club and beyond. The central living space is flooded with clear natural light which showcases the artwork and antique furniture perfectly. “This is our home's central space where family and friends come together, and as such carries some of our chosen pieces” explains our customer. This includes a painting by M. F. Husain, the celebrated Indian artist, and also a painting by Ram Kumar, who is regarded as one of India’s greatest artists from recent generations.

The owners clearly have a love of antiques and antique furniture. In the spacious bedroom stands an antique four-poster bed and a beautiful Anglo-Indian secretaire chest of drawers, made from rosewood with intricate carving on the drawer fronts and pillars. They knew they wanted to own this piece straightaway and particularly love the secret compartments within. “Our preference for home interior styling has always been rooted in our cultural orientations. We are always more keen on beautifully carved or painted rosewood, mahogany or other hardwood furniture” says our customer. The art piece on top is a carved woodwork from one of the Indian palaces in Rajasthan.
