Anglo-Indian Rosewood SideboardMid 19th century
An elegant British colonial serpentine shaped sideboard in rosewood with an overhanging top panel. It features a large central drawer above a smaller one, flanked by two pedestals with four drawers. All drawers with brass swan neck handles. Below the two central drawers a recess with a door that gives access to a compartment with one shelve. On the sides brass carrying handles.
The sideboard is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made off has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
