Anglo-Indian Teakwood Cylinder DeskLate 19th century
A British colonial teakwood cylinder desk with a rectangular moulded top and a cylinder fall front. The top opens to reveal a fitted interior which consist of a small central drawer with a brass pull below three pigeon holes. This is flanked on either side by three equal size storage compartments. The piece has a pull out writing slide with a writing surface and two wooden handles. It stands on four tapering cabriole legs. The front and rear legs are connected with a stretcher.
The desk is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
