Anglo-Indian Teakwood Cylinder DeskLate 19th century
An elegant British colonial teakwood cylinder desk with a rectangular moulded top and a cylinder fall front. The top, decorated with a nice gallery, opens to reveal a fitted interior which consists of six drawers with brass pulls and three pigeon holes. The pull out writing slide has an adjustable writing slope and storage compartments. It stands on four tapering cabriole legs, whereby the front and rear legs are connected with a stretcher and the rear legs by a solid stretcher with a small gallery on top.
The desk is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory by using a traditional from of French polishing and waxing.
