Anglo-Indian Teakwood Drop Front Desk -SOLDMid 19th century
A nice, unusual size British colonial drop front desk in teakwood. The slanted top opens to form the writing surface which has a new black leather inset.
The fitted interior features two one drawer and several document compartments. It stands on four cabriole legs ending in ball and claw feet and that are connected with an X-stretcher.
The desk was found in Calcutta and made during the colonial era.
The desk is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
