British Colonial Rosewood Breakfront Cabinet

Mid 19th century

A beautifully carved and pierced British colonial breakfront cabinet in rosewood. The overhanging top is made of one piece of rosewood and carved with two borders. The front is mounted with four hinged doors that are boldly carved and pierced with a design of intertwining vines. The interior is fitted with two shelves. The piece stands on an inverted breakfront plinth, carved in the same design as the top, resting on eight small, carved bun feet.

The cabinet is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
