British Colonial Rosewood Console TableMid 19th century
A beautiful British colonial rosewood console table with a top made of one piece of wood. This top with a scalloped, carved and pierced back gallery. The table has two equal size drawers in the frieze, flanking a beautiful relief floral carving. The table is supported on either side by two curved C-shaped supports that are connected by a stretcher and stands on 4 carved cabriole legs that end in a scroll.
The console table is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
