British Colonial Rosewood Occasional Table with Inlay

Late 19th century

SGD 4,400

A beautiful British colonial rosewood ebony and ivory inlaid occasional table. The octagonal top is intricately inlaid with delicate ivory floral designs. The top is supported on an arcaded ivory inlaid folding base. The inlay work is indicative of Hoshiarpur work.

The table is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The rosewood has a darker shade giving sharply defined contrast to the ivory inlay work.
