British Colonial Rosewood RécamierLate 19th century
A British colonial rosewood récamier; a lighter daybed with scrolling end and footrest decorated with carved designs along its frame. The récamier is upholstered in black fabric decorated with white circles. A small neck-roll style pillow provides some cushioned comfort.
The daybed is in excellent condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The rosewood has a dark shade with a striking grain.
