Pair of British Colonial Teakwood Corner Chairs

Mid 19th century

A pair of British colonial teakwood corner elbow chairs with an arched crest back rail, two pierced splats on the sides, turned baluster uprights under the arms and a shaped apron. The legs are turned and end with a ring and a peg foot. The hand caned seat and back have been replaced in a pattern typical of the colonial period. The seat height of the chairs is 48 cm or 19”.

The chairs are in good condition and have been lovingly restored to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
