Indo-Dutch Rosewood Storage BoxMid 19th century
A Dutch colonial storage box made of rosewood with nicely contrasting brass details. On the sides as well as on the base, the box is strengthened and simultaneously decorated with brass straps. Two brass hinges secure the lid to the back. It opens to an interior with a large lift out tray. The box that was modeled after the larger colonial chest, stands on bracket feet.
The box is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory by using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing
