Indo-Portuguese Rosewood Cupboard on Stand – SOLDEarly 19th century
A magnificent Portuguese colonial rosewood cupboard on stand with an overhanging rectangular top. The double doors are crafted with an arched cushion moulded panel and with a pattern exclusive to Portuguese India.
The doors open to an interior with two shelves. The bottom of the cupboard houses two flush fitting drawers with the original brass swan neck handles.
The cupboard rests on a stand with tall slender cabriole legs that are connected with a curved stretcher to the carved apron of the stand.
