Pair of British Colonial Architectural Mirrors

Mid 19th century

SGD 7,500

A pair of British colonial mahogany architectural mirrors. The frame, of typical architectural form is surmounted by a broken pediment centred by a carved foliate motif. With stunning hand carved columns on the side wood panels as well as intricate hand carved detailing on the top and bottom of the frame.  It has metal brackets on the back so it can be easily hung on any wall or it is large enough that it could sit on the floor or a surface and lean against a wall.

The mirror frames are in good condition and have been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The mahogany has a rich warm shade with a striking grain.

The price quoted is for the pair of mirrors.
