Art Deco Teakwood Sideboard
Early 20th centuryA British colonial Art-Deco style sideboard made of nicely grained teakwood with an overhanging top made of one piece of wood. It features two equal size drawers with wooden pulls over two paneled doors. Inside one shelve. The piece stand on a solid plinth base.
Art Deco was derived from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, where the style was first exhibited. Art Deco design represented modernism turned into fashion. It combined modern styles with fine craftsmanship and rich materials.
