This customer's house in Penang has a wonderful, eclectic, antiques collection from Birma, China and colonial India. A very special home that seem almost too good to be true with spacious rooms and full-length glass windows and doors that offer superb ocean views.
From the main entrance on the second level, guests are received in a beautiful entrance hall graced to the left by a winding staircase. On the floor lies a massive rug and on a Goanese marble top table inlaid with cedarwood sit four vases from the owners’ royal Burmese lacquerware collection.
In the living room there are two Dutch colonial cupboards. Notice the ebony inlay work that provides stunning detailing and contrast to the lighter wood, mahogany and satinwood, the cupboards are made of.
In the dining area, a large Georgian dining table that can be extended to comfortably seat fourteen people. A British colonial sideboard is placed against the wall.
And if you are lucky enough to be invited, the guestroom with Chinese antiques has a beautiful curtained four poster bed to enjoy tranquil nights.
