THE SINGAPOREAN FLAG

The national flag of Singapore holds significant meaning and symbolism, representing the nation's history, values, and aspirations. Its role is to serve as a symbol of national identity and unity.

It features two horizontal bands of equal width. The top band is red, while the bottom band is white. The red symbolizes universal brotherhood and equality among Singaporeans, while the white represents purity and virtue.

On the hoist side of the flag, the crescent moon is positioned just above the five stars in the shape of a circle. The crescent moon is a traditional Islamic symbol and signifies a young nation's growing strength and determination to progress.

The five stars on the Singaporean flag represent the nation's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice, and equality. They are arranged in a circle to symbolize a unified and harmonious society.
