MEET THE NEW OWNERS OF PAST PERFECT

As the new owners of Past Perfect, we are delighted to share the beginning of an exciting new chapter for The Past Perfect Collection—a trusted name in colonial antiques. We, Steve and Danielle Lesser, are honoured to take on this responsibility and carry forward the store’s remarkable legacy of authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless design.

A PASSION FOR THE PAST

Becoming the new owners of Past Perfect is not just a change in leadership—it’s a continuation of a journey rooted in admiration and respect for antique colonial furniture. As longtime fans of The Past Perfect Collection, we’ve always been captivated by the stories behind each piece and the artistry that goes into their restoration.

When we embarked on our very first sourcing trip to India, we had high hopes—but the experience exceeded anything we could have imagined. It was a journey filled with cultural richness, beauty, and connection. We faced challenges, yes, but also discovered the true heart of what makes this work meaningful.

BUILDING CONNECTIONS THROUGH CRAFT

In India, we discovered more than just extraordinary antiques—we found a passionate community. Working alongside our talented partners, skilled restorers, and trusted experts, we’ve reconnected with the heart of what makes The Past Perfect Collection so special.

These relationships, built on mutual respect and a shared dedication to quality, are central to our work.
Every trip, every conversation, and every carefully revived piece strengthens our purpose: to offer beautifully restored colonial furniture that tells a story.

A LEGACY CONTINUED

The colonial antiques we curate—from British campaign chests to Dutch colonial cabinets—are rich with history and character. These are not just pieces of furniture; they are living stories. As the new owners of Past Perfect, we feel a deep responsibility to ensure that these stories are not only preserved but celebrated.

A NEW LOCATION AT 100 PP

Founders of Past Perfect, Pieter and Marie-Hélène van Houten opened the first Past Perfect Collection antique store in the enclave of River Valley, it then moved to the leafy Bukit Timah neighbourhood followed by many years at the Tan Boon Liat Building. When we reopened the doors in November 2025, Singapore’s most stylish antique store found its new home at 100 Pasir Panjang (100 PP) overlooking views of the shipping port across the road. And yes, the ‘PP’ in the address did not go unnoticed as a moniker for Past Perfect!

Visit our airy showroom and be transported back in time. Think of romantic four poster beds, handsome rosewood cabinets, sturdy travelling chests with heavy brass locks, breezy caned chairs and relaxing daybeds and you will begin to understand what our unique antique store has to offer.

LOOKING AHEAD FROM SINGAPORE

With Singapore as our home base, we are excited to lead The Past Perfect Collection into its next era. This new phase isn’t just about change—it’s about continuity, respect for the past, and a renewed passion for storytelling through antiques.

We warmly invite you to be part of this next chapter with us. Whether you're a longtime customer or discovering colonial antiques for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you into The Past Perfect Collection and sharing in the journey ahead.

Thank you for your support as we begin this incredible adventure.
