Little is known and written about antique colonial furniture from India, largely due to the unusual position that it occupies. Western in design and function, it has never been considered Indian and has thus been overlooked by scholars of Indian Art; Indian in execution it has been overlooked by historians of western furniture. In spite of that, this colonial style of furniture has gained popularity because of its beauty, high quality and the ease with which it complements current décor trends.
