In recent years, the concept and popularity of pre-wedding photography has increased tremendously, especially amongst young couples. Usually done a few months before the wedding, a pre-wedding photo shoot is all about capturing precious memories in a picturesque setting that are to be cherished for life.
So we were really excited when Elaine and Durjay approached us, and for once we changed our antique store in a photo studio for their pre-wedding photos.
Working in Singapore as a dentist and an investor in small businesses, Elaine and Durjay met several years ago and recently decided to tie the knot.
But before the big day they wanted to document special moments by a professional photographer. Elaine says: “We want to be able to recollect the loving times of our engagement and wedding even when we are no longer young and beautiful. We know that marriage has its highs and lows and when it is at its low, we can look back at the memories and remind ourselves how happy we were and why we committed to each other in the first place”.
Elaine continues: "A pre-wedding shoot is a perfect opportunity to dress up in gorgeous outfits and present ourselves in the best way without the stress of the wedding day. We decided to wear lehenga and sherwani partly because of Durjay's origin but mostly because they are elaborate and luxurious outfits that we don't get a chance to wear otherwise".
Elaine and Durjay liked the authenticity of the store set up. " The furniture at The Past Perfect Collection reminded us of being at a grandiose palace in Rajasthan. Since our outfits looked 'regal', antique furniture complemented the style perfectly and brought out the glamour in them. Featuring antique furniture in the photos allowed us to travel back to a time when India still had royalty. Without the antiques the pictures would have lacked substance."
