British Colonial Rosewood Round Dining Table with Marble Top

Mid 19th century

A beautiful and very elegant large British colonial round dining table made of rosewood with a new marble top. The circular top with moulded edges above and below the apron and on four sides carved with a floral pattern. It stands on a pedestal with a beautifully carved baluster support and four splayed legs ending in brass claw castors. The table is of good proportions and would easily seat six people.

The table is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The rosewood has a rich warm shade with a striking grain.
