British Colonial Rosewood Glass Front CabinetMid 19th century
A beautiful British colonial glass front cabinet in rosewood with a flat overhanging top, gadrooning on the edge and fleur-de-lis carving on the frieze. The cabinet has double doors with ten beveled glass panels within a rosewood frame; they open to reveal four shelves. The bottom finished with egg and dart carving on the edge and resting on four small bun feet.
The cupboard is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
