British Colonial Cedarwood Box
Mid 19th centuryA beautiful British colonial dome-shaped box made of cedar wood, expertly and profusely relief carved on the four sides with foliate design and animal carvings. On the top a depiction of Shiva & Parvati feeding a deer. The box opens to a plain interior with two lift-out trays and stands on four swan feet.
The box is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
