British Colonial Mahogany Pedestal or Plant Stand
Late 19th centuryA British colonial pedestal table or plant stand in mahogany. Raised on long cabriole legs, with the knee curving outward and the ankle curving inward terminating in an ornamental monopodium foot.
The diameter of the top is 31 cm or 12” and it has a 27 cm or 10 ½” diameter surface inside the lip.
The pedestal is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The mahogany has a rich warm shade with a nice grain.
