British Colonial Rosewood Cash Box
Late 19th centurySGD 2,200
A British colonial rosewood cash box with a brass carrying handle on top. The exterior of the box is adorned and reinforced with pierced brass mounts on the edges and has a beautiful latch that slots in the notch of the large original working lock. The lid opens on two hinges at the outside revealing the interior with a small, lidded compartment on the left side.
The box has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory by using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
