British Colonial Rosewood Pen Box with Silver Inlay

Late 19th century

SGD 1,650

The box has been further embellished with inlaid floral motifs in silver. Inside an interior with several small compartments, a lift out tray and two small secret drawers.

The box is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
