An elegant colonial teakwood display easel of tall, tapering form, combining architectural lines with finely detailed decorative carving. The shaped crest incorporates a shell-like fan motif above a lattice-pattern panel, framed by scroll-ended uprights. Paired arches beneath the crest lend lightness to the open frame, while the broad, moulded picture ledge is enriched with a curved apron and central foliate ornament.

The long outer supports terminate in outward-scrolling feet, echoing the carved details above and giving the piece a balanced silhouette. It’s warm brown finish highlights the timber grain, while the restrained placement of ornament allows the frame to complement, rather than compete with, the artwork displayed.

Designed in the Victorian taste, this decorative easel provides an attractive setting for a framed painting or print, with a character suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors. This teakwood easel is in good condition and has been lovingly restored to its former glory.
