British Colonial Walnut Sofa
Mid 19th centuryA newly upholstered British colonial sofa in walnut with a beautifully carved filigree crest rail and front apron. The front of the reeded frame with flare arms that end in a scroll with a finely carved floral detail. The carvings are crisp and executed with great skill. The back of the frame with a more plain molded form. The piece sits on four reeded sabre legs terminating in a scroll. The seat height is 43 cm or 17”.
The sofa is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
