Portuguese Colonial Rosewood Chest
Late 19th CenturySGD 2,450
This striking Portuguese colonial or Indo-Portuguese rosewood chest pairs brass cusp straps to punctuate and reinforce the corners. The decorative brass escutcheon and side carrying handles provide elegant contrasts to the dark wood.
The substantial lid opens to reveal a spacious interior compartment, secured by two long brass strap hinges with ornamental tips. There are two additional drawers below that when removed reveals hidden storage behind. Raised on shaped bracket feet, the chest combines practical storage with a strong architectural presence.
