British Colonial Teakwood Display Cabinet
Mid 19th centuryAn elegant British colonial teakwood display cabinet. The top of the cabinet is adorned with a broken pediment with a shaped finial at the centre. The pediment is decorated with a relief carved floral design. The sides with plain glass panels. The astragal glazed doors doors open to a fitted interior with two glass shelves. The cabinet is raised on a base, which boasts one large drawer with the original two brass handles. This base features a serpentine front and rests on four cabriole legs.
The cabinet is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
