Pair of British Colonial Mahogany Mirrors

Late 19th-Early 20th century

SGD 7,800

A pair of British colonial teakwood architectural mirrors. The frame, of typical architectural form, has an unusual carved piercing of peacocks forming the pediment. With stunning hand carved columns on the side wood panels as well as intricate hand carved detailing on the top and bottom of the frame.  It has metal brackets on the back so it can be easily hung on any wall or it is large enough that it could sit on the floor or a surface and lean against a wall.

The mirror frames are in good condition and have been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The mahogany has a rich warm shade with a striking grain.

The price quoted is for the pair of mirrors.
