Anglo-Indian Teakwood Cylinder DeskLate 19th century
An elegant British colonial teakwood cylinder desk with a rectangular moulded top and a cylinder fall front. The top, decorated with a nice gallery, opens to reveal a fitted interior which consists of six larger storage compartments and four small drawers of equal size with brass pulls. The piece has a solid teakwood writing surface, with two drawers with brass pulls. It stands on four tapering legs connected by an H-stretcher.
The desk is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
