British Colonial Teakwood Display CabinetMid 19th century
A beautiful British colonial display cabinet in teakwood with a rounded and overhanging top with a moulded cornice. The cabinet has one door with a single beveled glass panel that opens to an interior with three glass shelves. The base has a drawer with two brass handles. All four corners are decorated with rounded pilasters which run from top till bottom and create a very elegant appearance. The cabinet stands on four solid bun feet.
The cabinet is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Burma teak wood that this piece has been made of has a warm color and an attractive, straight grain.
