British Colonial Teakwood Cheval Mirror

Late 19th century

A British colonial cheval mirror in teakwood. It is a full-length tilting mirror in a beautifully carved frame in a floral design. It has upright pillar-like supports with wooden knobs and rests on four cabriole legs with floral carving on the
knees and scrolled feet. The mirror has been replaced by a new one, but
the original back board is still in place.

The mirror frame and backboard are in good condition and have been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
