A beautiful and highly decorative antique British colonial half moon table with a scalloped, carved and pierced back gallery. It is supported by four carved legs terminating in mythical monkey faces at the table top. The apron and the shoulders of the cabriole legs display foliate carving while the apron also has  a pierced round floral carving in the center. The legs are joined by a scrolled saltier stretcher with a carved and pierced ornament at the crossing.

The table is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made off has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
