British Colonial Mahogany Glass Front Cabinet on Stand

Mid 19th century

SGD 7,800

A beautiful British colonial glass front cabinet in mahogany with a deep moulded cornice with gadrooning on the edge. The frieze and frames of the doors feature reeded carving and floral blocks in the corners and at centre. Set back from the base, the cabinet has double doors, each with five bevelled glass panels, that open to reveal four shelves. The cabinet rests on a base that is supported on four short carved fluted legs ending in small bun feet on a short peg.

The cabinet is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
