British Colonial Teakwood Pedestal Desk

Late 19th century

An antique teakwood pedestal desk with a rectangular top made of one piece of wood. The deep frieze has one long drawer flanked by two short drawers. The central kneehole is flanked on either side by a pedestal with three equal sized drawers.  All drawers are cockbeaded in rosewood and have the original recessed brass handles.  The desk splits into three sections (the top and two pedestals) for the ease of transport and is raised on bun feet. The desk is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
