British Colonial Mahogany Pedestal Table with Marble Top
Mid 19th centuryA stunning British colonial dining table in dark mahogany with an Italian marble top set above a plain frieze. The massive columnar support with reeded collar stands on a square concave base supported by scrolled feet with leaf embellishments. This unique and large size table would comfortably seat at least 8 persons.
The table is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The mahogany has a rich warm shade with a striking grain. The marble top has been replaced.
