British Colonial Rosewood Center Table with Marble Top
Mid 19th centuryA beautiful British colonial rosewood center table with a serpentine shaped top and a delicately carved and pierced apron. The top rests on four curving supports with scrolls at the ends. The supports are connected to a carved X-shaped base with a tall but gracious finial that is decorated with a carved floral design. The table stands on four curved and carved legs. The marble on top has been newly replaced.
The table is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The mahogany has a rich warm shade with a striking grain.
