A British colonial open daybed in rosewood. The sides display twelve spindles each. The legs are elegantly turned and tapered and terminate with a ring and ball on a peg foot, all joined with plain square sectioned stretchers.  The replaced seat is caned in one continuous section and the seat height is 54 cm or 21 ½”.

The daybed is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
