British Colonial Teakwood Barrister Bookcase
Early 20th centuryA British colonial four sectional barrister bookcase in teakwood. It features four bookshelves with a glazed door to allow the spines of the books to be read and that uses an “up and over” mechanism for opening. The bookcase rests on a base with a scalloped apron and four short cabriole legs ending in claw feet.
The piece is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
