Portuguese Colonial Rosewood Console Table
Late 19th centuryA very nice Portuguese colonial console table made of rosewood with a serpentine shaped top. The apron is beautifully relief carved in a fine floral design. The top rests on four supports, each support consists of two C-shaped scrolls adorned with floral carving. The supports are connected through a solid serpentine shaped base resting on four claw feet.
The console table is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that this piece has been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
