Teakwood Art Deco Chest of Drawers

Early 20th century

SGD 2,600

A British colonial Art-Deco style chest of drawers in nicely grained teakwood with rosewood details. It features two short drawers over two larger ones, all drawers fitted with contrasting  rosewood pulls. The top and sides are made of single planks.
Art Deco was derived from the Exposition  Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, where the style was first exhibited. Art Deco design represented modernism turned into fashion. It combined modern styles with fine craftsmanship and rich materials.

The price quoted is for one chest of drawers. A pair is available.
