Portuguese Colonial Rosewood Stools
Mid 19th centuryA quite unique pair of Portuguese colonial stools in rosewood. The seat is round and newly hand-caned in an intricate pattern. The six cabriole legs with carving on the knee, end in stylized claw feet. The legs are connected with stretchers that meet at a flat finial.
The stools are in good condition and have been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The Indian rosewood that they have been made of has a naturally occurring dark shade with a striking grain.
