British Colonial Teakwood Easy Chair
Late 19th centuryAn unusual British colonial easy chair made of teakwood with a newly caned seat and back. The adjustable inclined back and seat are caned in separate sections. Each arm is composed of a flat plank with a rounded end and is joined with an X-shaped support to the rest of the chair. This remarkable chair features a fold out foot rest, that, when not in use, is stored beneath the seat. The front legs are higher than the rear legs so the seat inclines.
The chair is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
