Anglo Indian Carved Mahogany Sofa
Early 20th centuryA British colonial sofa in mahogany with original two matching side chairs in a late Victorian style. All three have beautifully carved filigree crest rail and front apron. The front of the frame with flare arms that end in a scroll with finely carved floral roundels. The carvings are crisp and executed with great skill. The piece sits on four legs that curve inward at the knee and terminate in a stylized animal claw. The seat and back have recently been re-upholstered in an ivory textured fabric and crisp button tufting and two bolster pillows.
The sofa and chairs are in good condition and have been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
