British Colonial Mahogany Chest of DrawersMid 19th century
An antique British colonial chest of drawers made of Spanish mahogany. The top portion has two small and two short drawers over one longer drawer. The lower section has two deep long drawers. All of the drawers are flush fitting with the original recessed brass handles. Solidly constructed of single planks of Spanish mahogany with brass carrying handles on the sides. The piece stands on a plinth with bracket feet.
The chest of drawers is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing. The mahogany has a dark, rich warm shade with a striking grain.
