British Colonial Teakwood Cheval Mirror
Late 19th centuryA British colonial cheval mirror in teakwood. It is a full-length tilting mirror in a carved frame with a nice floral carving on top.
The mirror frame is attached with brass screws to the scrolled carved supports. They rest on four cabriole legs that are connected with a stretcher with a floral carving at centre. The mirror has been replaced by a new one, but the original back board is still in place. The size of the mirror is 145 cm x 90 cm or 57” x 35”.
The mirror frame and backboard are in good condition and have been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional form of French polishing and waxing.
