British Colonial Cedarwood Cradle Coffee Table

19th century

Antique British colonial cradle coffee table. An original child’s cradle transformed into a coffee table. The rectangular cedarwood frame consists of one tier of bulbous balusters in rosewood.  The legs at the corners of the frame are made of rosewood too. The four brass rings that were used to fix the cradle with a chain to the ceiling so it could swing, are original to the piece. The solid glass top has rounded edges and has been tailor made.
